When there’s a will, there’s a way!
Hi there everyone, my names Jonah, pretty new here! I’m glad and blessed to be a part of the Ecombl family!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I was born with backwards knees, clubbed feet, missing digits on both hands, literally born as a chocolate mess! This was only the beginning of my story, as my mother saw much more potential in me than what others came to Judge. They told her when I was born, I’d never walk, talk, even have the ability to comprehend past basic communication. Age of 18 months, she decided to have both of my limbs amputated! They did, again they said I’d never walk and I’d be in a wheelchair for the remainder of my life, which at first was only 6 weeks of age. 2 weeks after the amputation, I got up from the living room floor, and I’ve been running ever since.
Living my life as a double amputee, missing digits, a bit risky, living on the edge sort of lifestyle, with my past being doctor’s and of course the doubters, saying I won’t live my life fully because of the “Limits” society sees that I may have in their eyes. Over the course of 23 almost 24 years, I have learn to adapt and persevere through so called limitations and sly remarks! If I’m going to live my life to the fullest, I might as well try everything and anything I possibly can get my hands on!
Quite honestly for me, I don’t ever look at my disability as a disadvantage, I look it as the advantage of being able to show others who are interested in my story, or have a mirrored story to my life, that my logo is “ I don’t have Legs, so what?” What’s your excuse as to why you can’t accomplish this, or accomplish that?
As you will notice, I ride a bit differently than most electric boarders out there. Because of my balance in what I’ve always considered stilts standing on board such as so an off roader, is a bit challenging for me. However; I have learned my own way to do what I have loved since the moment I laid my eyes on my sisters skateboard when I 4. It’s another way I have learned to adapt to my own ability of how to shred!
Yes, I’ve had many failures in life, though I’ve used them to my advantage of growth, and gain more and more success. If you don’t succeed the first time, try try again. We fall back 7, rise up 8.
Trying something new.... off road legless style!
Few weeks ago, I received my first Ecombl board, the ET. Let me tell you, it took me out of my comfort zone. I’m used to street boarding, and of course, I’m still in that medium of rugged terrain and streets, don’t judge me .
I will say this, for a planetary gear drive system, it’s got quite the power and definitely exceeded my expectations! Love this board and the company that I have been given the privilege to work with! Here’s to living life on the wild side!!!
So my point being. If you at all have any doubts as to why you can’t take one step out of your comfort, and one step into something that can change your whole life around. Take a look at mine, because i had many chances to give up and give in to what many have approached me about, live a little, and enjoy life to the fullest!
